Ecipe Ingredients for black seed (Urad Dal) with onion and tomatoes:

Urad dal (Black Gram) - 1 glass

cumin (Jeera) - 1/3 tsp

Tomatoes - 2 medium size

Onions - 1 medium size

Green chillies - 2

Salt for flavor

Red Chili Powder - 1/3 tsp

Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp

Mango Powder (Amchur Powder) - 1/3 tsp

Coriander Powder (Dhania Powder) - 1 tsp

Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp

Turmeric Powder - 3 pinches

Ginger paste - 1 "

Minced garlic paste - 2 cloves

Asafoetida (Hing) - a few pinches

Vegetable oil or Ghee - 1 tbsp

Water - 4 cups

Black gram (Urad Dal) preparation method:

Heat the oil in a pan.

Add hing seeds and cumin

Add chopped ginger, garlic and grated onion.

Cook until they turn pink.

Now add the grated tomatoes and the chopped green chilies. Mix well.

Add red chili powder, amchoor, garam masala, coriander powder. Mix well and cook until the mixture separates from the oil.

Now add the cooked dal to that.

Garnish the dal with chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice / chapati.
