A note on Sundays in Warsaw

Most shops in Poland are closed on Sundays, except on a few "trading Sundays" ("niedziele handlowe") each year. On those days the Śródmieście and Wola shops are open; the Mokotów shop is not. On other Sundays, plan your shopping for Saturday, or order online.

What you can buy

The Warsaw shops sell Indian groceries, and you can see the range in the Little India online shop: basmati and South Indian rice, atta and other flours, toor, moong, urad and chana dal, whole and ground spices, masala blends, ghee, paneer, pickles, chutneys, Haldiram's snacks and Indian sweets. There are also Indian cosmetics, incense and pooja items. Fresh vegetables such as curry leaves, green chillies, okra and drumstick are in the fresh vegetables and fruit category; what is on the shelf changes with the season.

For Diwali, look at the Diwali & Pooja category: diyas, rangoli colours and other festival items.

Not in Warsaw?

Little India also has shops in Kraków, Wrocław and Gdańsk, and the online shop sends orders across Poland. Our guide to the Indian shop in Poland lists all six shops and explains how to order online. Polish readers can switch to the Polish version of this guide.
