Marinate for 30–120 minutes, then sauté onions, add the meat, add a tomato or passata, and simmer until tender. If you prefer a quick version without marinating, sprinkle the spice directly into the sautéed onions and tomato, add water, and cook with the meat until the sauce thickens and starts to slightly separate. The dish tastes great with basmati rice, naan, roti, or paratha; fresh coriander, slices of onion and cucumber, and a teaspoon of yogurt pleasantly balance the spiciness. The blend also works well in "fusion" cuisine: as a spicy marinade for grilling, a base for meatballs, or even for roasted vegetables or paneer when you want to achieve a bold, pickled profile without a long list of spices.
