This is how PG Tips was born, initially called "Pre-Gest-Tea," which was later shortened. Mr. Brooke then added "tips" to emphasize that we only use the top two leaves and buds of each plant.

PG tips granulated black tea is a classic English blend with a deep, strong flavor and distinct aroma, made from carefully selected leaves of black tea from Ceylon and Kenya; the fine granulation (CTC) produces a rich, clear brew that is great for waking up in the morning and tastes excellent both solo and in the British style — with milk and sugar; ideal for breakfasts, afternoon breaks, and serving in a teapot, it pairs well with baked goods and savory snacks; brewing is simple: add 1 teaspoon per cup, pour freshly boiled water at about 95–100°C, steep for 3–5 minutes, adjusting the strength to your preference; the leaves come from certified sources (Rainforest Alliance), supporting sustainable farming standards; the practical packaging makes daily use at home and in the office easier; store in a dry, cool, and dark place, in a tightly sealed container away from strong odors to maintain freshness and full aroma.
