Preparation: rinse until the water runs clear, optionally soak for 20–30 minutes; cook in a ratio of about 1:1.5–1.75 (rice:water) on low heat covered for 12–15 minutes, let stand for 5–10 minutes and fluff with a fork (in a rice cooker, select the white/basmati rice program). It pairs excellently with cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves, and ghee, enhancing the flavor of sauces without thickening them.
