Chandan Mouth Freshener is a popular Indian breath freshening mix, often consumed after meals. It consists of aromatic seeds (e.g., fennel, anise), spices, and sugary coatings that not only freshen the breath but also support digestion.

Hing Tikya Chandan is a traditional asafoetida in the form of pressed discs (tikya) with an intense, spicy aroma featuring garlic-onion notes, indispensable in Indian cuisine for tempering (tadka) and quickly enhancing the flavor of dishes without using onion and garlic; a pinch sautéed for 2–3 seconds in hot ghee/oil releases deep umami, reduces the heaviness of legumes, and supports the digestibility of dishes; ideal for dal, sabzi, sambar, rasam, pickled/preserved chutneys, cumin rice, as well as for meatless and vegan dishes, where it adds a "meaty" character; usage: break off a small piece (the size of a pea), crush it, and add it at the beginning of frying spices, combine with cumin, mustard, coriander, and curry leaves; the product is very efficient—excess can dominate the flavor, so use sparingly; storage: keep in an airtight, odor-proof container, in a dry and cool place, away from moisture; before use, check the label for carriers—some batches contain wheat flour/gum arabic, which is important for those avoiding gluten and allergens.
