Wooden Kolattam Sticks are traditional sticks designed for performing the Indian Kolattam dance, in which rhythm is created, among other things, by controlled striking of the sticks held in the hands. Kolattam is a dance tradition particularly associated with southern India and performed in groups during ceremonies, cultural events, festivals, and local celebrations. The name of the dance refers precisely to the use of sticks as an important element of choreography and rhythm. During the performance, participants move according to a set choreography and rhythmically strike their sticks against their partners' sticks, creating characteristic sounds that are part of the entire presentation. Wooden sticks can be used both during traditional Kolattam performances and in dance classes, Indian culture workshops, school plays, themed events, and folk shows. They can also serve as an accessory for learning basic rhythmic sequences and motor coordination characteristic of this type of dance. Kolattam Sticks should not be automatically equated with every type of stick used in Indian dances. Similar accessories appear, among others, in Dandiya Raas, but these are separate dance traditions associated with different regions of India. The product made of wood may exhibit natural differences in color, grain, and shade of the material. Such differences are a typical property of natural raw material and do not have to constitute a defect of the product. The exact wood species, length, diameter, weight, method of painting, varnishing, or other finishing should be provided only based on the specification of a particular variant. Before use, it is worth checking the surface of each stick for cracks, splinters, sharp edges, and other damages that may increase the risk of cuts. During exercises and performances, an appropriate distance between participants should be maintained, and the strength and pace of strikes should be adjusted to the group's skills. The sticks should not be used as weapons or to hit people. The product is a practical accessory for dance groups, schools, cultural event organizers, and people interested in traditional forms of dance and culture of southern India.
