Boondi is popularly used to prepare 'raita' in North India. Raita is a curd based dish. Boondi raita typically contains curd (plain yoghurt), boondi (which has been soaked in water to make it soft) and seasonings of salt, spices, chilli, etc. It is served as an addition to the main course.
